ABOUT JESSE

Jesse Passenier is composer, arranger, conductor, pianist, vibraphonist, drummer, and winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2017, a prestigeous Dutch national price, acknowledging his skillfulness in bringing genres together in composing, arranging and as an orchestral leader. In 2011 he was one of the four laureates of the international composition contest of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra (BJO ICC 2011). In 2012 he got in to the prestigious Metropole Orchestra Arrangers Workshop, for which he made arrangements with the Metropole Orchestra, led by Vince Mendoza, featuring the great jazz vocalist Kurt Elling. In 2013 he passed with distinction at the Music Arademy of Maastricht for his Masters degree in Composing/Arranging. Ever since, he's been composing and arranging for many organisations and in many contexts and in 2016 he founded his own orchestra, called THE FLUID ORCHESTRA. Jesse now also teaches at the conservatory of Maastricht.

THE FLUID ORCHESTRA

THE FLUID ORCHESTRA is continuously in pursuit of new ways, fluid in style and line up. From small to great, the orchestra is custom fit for challenging collaborations. Jesse's artistic guidance turns the orchestra into the outskirts of genres. At times looking for the clash, other times the mix, invariably setting out to trigger new chemistry from the fluid qualities of music.
